Hi! I am a multimedia journalist currently based in Chennai and I'm passionate about covering politics, culture and entertainment. I have experience in writing, photography and video journalism. I hold a master's degree in journalism from Northwestern University where I specialized in social justice and solutions.

I have covered subjects such as local government in Chennai, culture, entertainment and American politics for various publications including The Hindu, The Chicago Tribune and The Juggernaut. ​

I'm deeply passionate about journalist safety and I worked with the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation in America to further this cause.

I was born and brought up in Chennai, India and my identity as an immigrant and woman of color gives me a global and nuanced perspective, informing my work and the way I approach it.

 

Aside from journalism, I’m a huge cricket fan, book lover and occasional foodie. I prefer beaches to mountains (I grew up beside a beach!) and I love to yap.
